As a Trained soldier and Movement Controller they are responsible for organising the transportation of troops, ammunition, vehicles and supplies. They help plan the route, prepare the ground, paperwork, and physically get the cargo ready to be moved by road, rail or sea.

Not one item moves through a military zone without Movement Controllers knowing about it and they have to be vigilant, exceptionally well organised and able to think on their feet.

This is a vital job, and they are trained in various methods of tracking cargo, including a special computer and reservations system. They work at transport centres at ports, airfields and railway terminals, and as soldiers they are  expected to guard them as well. .
